RECENT OUTTAGE UPDATE AND RESOLUTION

Recommended Posts

We apologize sincerely for recent interruption of service but are pleased to report that our service has now been restored, and customers are receiving data into their web accounts as usual. All captured data which had not yet been reported should now be accessible in your web account, at the next regularly scheduled interval (depending on your individual settings).

If your account has not yet updated, please send to the Target phone the “Send Immediate” SMS command appropriate for your version of the software, to immediately update your web account with all currently captured (but not yet reported) data. This SMS command can be seen in your manual or you may contact our Support Team either via Live Chat or our Ticket system for assistance.

A funny thing happened on the way to the server today…

We know our customers deserve an explanation of the down time. For those interested, on the evening of February the 4th the entire data center hosting our server came under a DDoS attack. We’d like to emphasize that FlexiSPY itself was not the target of the attack and to our knowledge has never been targeted by any such attack.

This was not a hacking attempt and at no time did any customer data become vulnerable. On the contrary, our servers have remained well protected behind secure firewalls. In fact it was some of these protective measures that inadvertently caused a temporary interruption of service for some customers.

Because the nature of the attack was initially unclear, we did not know how many customers were affected until many of you reported problems after the weekend. We apologize for this inconvenience, but we will always protect your data and your account privacy at all costs.

While ultimately the attack was not directed at FlexiSPY, we have monitored and identified certain aggressors and adjusted our firewall security accordingly. We would like to thank all of our customers for their patience over the past few days and assure you that measures have been taken to minimize any similar risk in the future.

Unfortunately DDoS attacks are common in the world of major service providers. Such victims have included Wordpress, Twitter, Amazon, MicroSoft, Yahoo, CNN, eBay….and numerous others. FlexiSPY reluctantly joins the ranks of our cyber brethren in this area, although our customers should take confidence in the fact that your continued service and data integrity is always our number one priority.

We thank you for your patience and continued support.
