bluemoose
I was about to buy the lite version when a popup told me OS 5.0 or something isn't supported. SO does that mean the 8830 isn't too? Need some help asap.
Christian
I was about to buy the lite version when a popup told me OS 5.0 or something isn't supported. SO does that mean the 8830 isn't too? Need some help asap. Your question is about the 8830, but your topic title says 8330. No matter, the answer applies to both. The pop-up is correct, that we don't yet support the Blackberry (RIM) Operating System 5.0 yet. This is not related to any specific model number, but the version of the OS that the phone is running. The OS version is found from the About menu on the phone itself. Go to "Home Screen -> Options -> About" and you'll find it. Both the 8830 and the 8330 are slightly older devices. The 8830 is referred to as the "World Edition" and the 8330 is an older model Curve, already replaced by a few newer model Curves (8900/8520/8530). Only some of the newest Blackberry models might be running OS 5.0, but 5.0 still isn't common yet. The 8830/8330 most likely do not have OS 5.0 available for them so its a mute point, but you can always check the About menu of a brand new phone if you want to be sure.
